Julie Broad
Chair Person, Board Member
Julie Broad has good strategic appreciation and vision, with the ability to build and implement plans in business. She is known for her collaborative approach and works to motivate and encourage through change.
Working on several Board positions including President and Chairperson in a variety of sectors, Julie more recently was a Founding Board Member for Plastic Free Foundation. Her passion for the environment began in her formative years when her parents decided to change their farming method from conventional farming to Biodynamic farming.
Leading an innovative team at a Western Australian food rescue organisation for 4 and a 1/2 years Julie created first time projects being seen in Perth. One was rescuing left over cafe food with the use of cargo carts and corporate volunteers, and the other was turning food waste that could not be passed on, to be digested into water. In addition plastic packaging from rescued food from supermarkets was a huge issue, Julie and her volunteers set up a successful recycling program for all plastic types.
With the next generation of young people educating themselves like never before in environmental issues, Julie is passionate to continue to lend a hand in this important space.
Julie’s passion is extended to assist small businesses and not-for-profit’s realise their vision guiding them with her extensive business knowledge.

Hi everyone I’m Penny and very excited to be a part of the Salty Folk NFP.
I have had my own bookkeeping business for 6 years and have more than 20 years bookkeeping experience. I have worked for companies including Westfield Shopping Centres, Dunlop, Azure Capital and Downer Engineering. Being able to assist my clients with their day to day bookkeeping and being an integral part to helping them manage their finances and grow their business is very rewarding.
I am also a mother of 2 beautiful daughters and when I can I love spending time camping, keeping fit at the gym and I find nothing more relaxing than being near the ocean.
